Brian Claypool

Brian was appointed to his current position at Christie in March 2004. As Senior Product Manager for Cinema, Brian is responsible for developing and managing Christie's expanding portfolio of film, Digital Cinema and On-Screen Advertising (OSA) products worldwide.

Brian brings strong technical expertise using film projection systems and equipment and has acquired first-hand experience working with the latest in sound and networking in a cinema environment. Brian joins Christie from Avica Technology Corporation where he was the Manager of Mastering and Installation Services participating in many field installations of the Company's digital cinema server, and where he worked closely with the DLP Cinema™ team at Texas Instruments. Among his broad-ranging experience, Brian has been involved in the mastering and/or distribution of over 50 feature films for Digital Cinema.

He was a technical supervisor at LucasFilm THX, directing the installation of the first Digital Cinema screening at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival. Brian was responsible for the acoustical/optical calibration and THX certification of over 700 movie theatres and post-production studios worldwide.

Brian attended Ohio University taking courses in audio/broadcast engineering and music performance. He is an active member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers since 1998 and a member of SMPTE DC28.
