Depicts juxtaposition between old school and new school,
between 25 pound wooden longboards and short light boards, between
two schools, as both Munoz and Kelly Slater, at the Billabong
Pro, make the fastest wave in the world look easy. Chasing
Dora, a mini travelogue/tribute to Surf legend Mikey Dora,
documents three surfers who follow Dora’s concept of surfing
eight foot waves at Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa with no
wetsuits, natural boards, and no judges. Robert “Wingnut”
Weaver (star of Endless Summer II) surfing legend Mickie “Mongoose”
Munoz, and Santa Barbara Junior High School alumnus and San Luis
Obispo shaper Marc Andreini star.
This event will benefit
both the Surfrider Foundation and local youth media educational
programs.
